Poem #4: Venture

storm.jpg

Winds of revenge take me down

As I strive to pierce the sky

Guilt of my doings tears me apart

And I stifle the urge to cry.

The dark clouds form a hurricane

And I stand in its midst, agitated

And the Styx below me rages

And the tides are then levitated.

Maelstroms wash over the shore

And the Titanic hits the chunk of ice

Sinking deeper, I see more plights

Merpeople scuttering away like mice.

Am I such a sinister being?

Is this all because of me?

My misdeeds push me to grieve

For I have caused this frenzy.

This venture has lead

To my awaited end

With plunders and mistakes

I might have to bow and bend.

I might be damned

But I shall soon rise from the dead

I shall overcome my flaws

I shall lead and be the head.

Your judgements don’t harm me

Your punishments don’t hurt me

There are million more ventures to do

And several more sights to see.

Me too. I started my blog 2 months ago. And it was a bit hard but what’s new? We have to learn and develop our skills and enjoy what we are doing rn and love our work. I’m just 17 years old that’s why my grammar is kinda lame haha. But thanks for replying. Keep blogging too. Hope to meet you soon. God bless.

I started about 3 months ago and yeah, it was initially a bit difficult, managing the blog along with the day to day chores and school but I’ve learnt to write devotedly and spend time on the regularly. True, what really matters is that we enjoy our work, develop and improve. I’m sure you’ll improve and get a lot better.
        Happy blogging!

Great job! Your linguistics here have been very impressive! 🙌

But you could still improve your rhymes though… Cut through words which can be assumed/modify some so as to make them flow.

Your pieces always deal with such strife, but they end in hope and redemption. I’m enjoying that.
